Projects
As this is a side project of the foundation “Erfgoed 40-45, gemeenten Valkenswaard en Waalre”, the projects below are being done in their name.
Education
We do lectures at schools, community halls and businesses. We organise expositions and static shows to get the stories more known. This way we make sure that the men are not forgotten.
Adoption program
To get the people more involved with the war cemetery, we have set up an adoption program. More about this can be found on this website by following this link: VWCAP
Contacting relatives
We find relatives of the fallen soldiers and keep in contact. Many times, we can tell new facts about their fallen loved ones. We send them up to date information about the graves and commemorations.
Attending Commemorations
We always try to be at any commemoration at the Valkenswaard war cemetery. Further more we try to visit the site as much as possible to be able to give the latest information at requests.
Book
In September 2015 the book “De weg naar Valkenswaard” was published. Since 2018 the book is updated in English. More info here: Book
Field work and research
We do a lot off research to make complete stories around the men buried in the cemetery. This is been done in archives and in the field.
Battlefield Tours
We organise and accompany battlefield tours. The main focus is the vicinity of Valkenswaard, Holland but sometimes we do other battlefields also.
