Henry Harper was killed during the battle for Best. Initially buried at Best, Sint Oedenrodeseweg 11.

From the service records of Henry Lloyd Harper, the following account can be reconstructed.

Henry Lloyd Harper was born on 16 February 1917 in St Paul’s, Liverpool, Lancashire. In civilian life he worked as a salesman and stockkeeper. He enlisted in the British Army on 17 January 1940 and joined the Liverpool Scottish.

Henry Lloyd Harper was not married.

He embarked for service in North West Europe on 3 August 1944.

According to his service records, he was 5 feet 11 inches tall, with brown hair and hazel eyes.

Henry Lloyd Harper was killed in action on 9 October 1944.
