Introduction

The Valkenswaard War Cemetery has more than 220 graves of commonwealth soldiers who died, during the liberation of Holland. Some of them fell during the battle for Valkenswaard, but others came from different battles. There are men who were killed around Best, Eersel, Bergeijk, etc. They all died between 14 September 1944 and 29 November 1944 with one exception who died on 21 January 1945.

There are 216 identified graves and 6 unknown Irish Guards in the cemetery. The ages vary between 18 and 39 years old. Two casualties are airmen, all the rest are from the British Army.
