Born on 2-3-1917, Wellingborough, North Hampshire. Initially buried at Oerle.

From the service records of Henry Arthur Fred Hume, the following account can be reconstructed.

Henry Arthur Fred Hume was born on 2 March 1917 in Higham Ferrers, Northamptonshire In civilian life he worked as a splitter. He was described as being 5 feet 6½ inches tall, with blue eyes and dark brown hair. He was unmarried.

He enlisted in the British Army on 2 April 1940, joining the Royal Welsh Fusiliers. Henry was deployed to North-West Europe on 24 June 1944 as part of the Allied campaign following the Normandy landings.

Henry Arthur Fred Hume was killed in action on 21 September 1944.
