Initially buried at the cemetery at the Roman Catholic church in the village of Bergeijk.

From the service records of Ronald Arthur Garbett, the following account can be reconstructed.

Ronald Arthur Garbett was born on 24 June 1920 in Wolverhampton. In civilian life he worked as a ply material assembler. He was described as being 5 feet 8 inches tall, with brown hair and brown eyes. He was unmarried.

He enlisted in the British Army on 16 September 1940 and joined the Royal Artillery, serving with 400 Battery, 50th Searchlight Regiment.

On 26 June 1944, Ronald was sent overseas to serve in North-West Europe. Later in the campaign, on 30 August 1944, he was transferred to the East Lancashire Regiment.

Ronald Arthur Garbett was killed in action on 22 September 1944, during the fighting in North-West Europe.
