From the service records of John Robert Colleton Firth, the following account can be reconstructed.
John Robert Colleton Firth was born on 17 April 1924 in Simla, India. He was not married. Before his military service he was a student.
He enlisted in the British Army on 10 November 1941 and joined the Royal Artillery. His father served as a Lieutenant Colonel with the Royal Air Force.
His education included study at Wellington College, followed later by attendance at University of Aberdeen.
According to his service records, he was 6 feet ½ inch tall, with fair hair and blue eyes.
John Robert Colleton Firth died of wounds on 24 September 1944.
