Son of John Frederick and Winifred Constance Griffiths, of Sheldon, Birmingham.

Born on 10-01-1911 in Ashton, Warwickshire. Died in the fieldhospital in the village of Meerveldhoven and initially buried there.

From the service records of Frederick Lawrence Griffiths, the following account can be reconstructed.

Frederick Lawrence Griffiths was born on 10 January 1923 in Aston, Birmingham, Warwickshire. In civilian life he worked as a marble mason. He enlisted in the British Army on 12 February 1942 and began his service at the 63rd Reconnaissance Training Centre.

Frederick Lawrence Griffiths embarked for service in North West Europe on 14 July 1944.

According to his service records, he was 5 feet 7¾ inches tall, with brown hair and blue eyes.

He was wounded in action on 25 September 1944, suffering a shrapnel wound to the left side of his chest. Frederick Lawrence Griffiths later died of his wounds on 30 September 1944.

Frederick is commemorated on the family grave in Birmingham.
