From surviving service records, the following outline of Frank Savin’s life and military service can be reconstructed.
Frank Savin was born on 24 February 1925 in High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire. Before enlistment he worked as an electrical instrument assembler. He was unmarried. His physical description records him as being 5 feet 2⅜ inches tall, with brown eyes and light brown hair.
He enlisted for military service on 15 March 1943 and initially entered the General Service Corps. On 17 June 1943 he was posted to the Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire Light Infantry.
Frank Savin embarked for North West Europe on 24 June 1944. He died of wounds on 21 September 1944.
