From the service records of Enoch Edgerton, the following account can be reconstructed.
Enoch Edgerton was born on 26 March 1925 in Stairfoot, Barnsley, Yorkshire. In civilian life he worked as a glass blower.
He enlisted in the British Army on 20 May 1943 and joined the General Service Corps. On 26 August 1943 he was transferred to the King’s Own Scottish Borderers.
Enoch Edgerton embarked for service in North West Europe on 14 June 1944.
According to his service records, he was 5 feet 2½ inches tall, with auburn hair and blue eyes.
Enoch Edgerton was killed in action on 22 September 1944.
