From the service records of Henry Albert Fisher, the following account can be reconstructed.
Henry Albert Fisher was born on 22 February 1940 in Everton, Liverpool, Lancashire. He was described as being 5 feet 6½ inches tall, with blue eyes and brown hair.
He married Rada Lillian Bernadette on 3 October 1939 in Liverpool, and the couple had one child.
Henry enlisted in the British Army on 13 June 1940, joining The King’s Regiment (Liverpool). His service included a posting to Gibraltar from 20 September 1940 until 30 July 1941. He was deployed to North-West Europe on 4 June 1944.
During the campaign he was transferred to the East Lancashire Regiment on 24 July 1944, and later, on 18 August 1944, to the Monmouthshire Regiment.
Henry Albert Fisher was killed in action on 25 September 1944.
