Son of Albert Charles and Lucy Galloway, of Newport, Monmouthshire.
The 2nd battalion Monmouthshire fought around the area of Voorheide on the 24th of September 1944. Alfred Galloway was initially buried at Meerveldhoven. It is very likely that he was wounded at Voorheide and died of wounds in the hospital at Meerveldhoven.

From the service records of Albert Alfred Galloway, the following account can be reconstructed.
Albert Alfred Galloway was born on 23 September 1924 in Pill, Newport, Monmouthshire. In civilian life he worked as a hair refiller. He was not married.
He enlisted in the British Army on 17 December 1942 and joined the General Service Corps. On 24 January 1943 he was transferred to the South Wales Borderers.
Albert Alfred Galloway embarked for service in North West Europe on 25 June 1944.
According to his service records, he was 5 feet 8 inches tall, with fair hair and grey eyes.
Albert Alfred Galloway dies of wounds on 25 September 1944.
