From the service records of Frank Moores, the following account can be reconstructed.

Frank Moores was born on 13 June 1925 in St Mary’s, Stockport, Cheshire. In civilian life he worked as a grocer’s traveller. He was not married.

He enlisted in the British Army on 15 July 1943 and joined the General Service Corps. On 26 August 1943 he was transferred to the Border Regiment, and later, on 1 August 1944, to the Royal Scots Fusiliers.

Frank Moores embarked for service in North West Europe.

According to his service records, he was 6 feet tall, with brown hair and blue eyes.

He was wounded on 26 September 1944 and died of his wounds on 30 September 1944.
