Died in the opening battle of Market Garden, on the road toward Valkenswaard

Thomas’s Granny’s maiden name was Crowe.  
His Granda was called James Watson, his granny Eleanor Crowe.
His father was also called Thomas Crowe Watson born 1899 died 1945, his mother was Mollie Burns. As far as we know they had 3 children Thomas Crowe, Sammy and Tony (who served and died in accident at home) 

From surviving service records, the following outline of Thomas Crowe Watson’s life and military service can be reconstructed.

Thomas Crowe Watson was born on 20 January 1924 in Derriaghy, Lisburn, County Antrim. Before enlistment he worked as a labourer. He was not married. His physical description records him as being 6 feet tall, with blue eyes and brown hair.

He enlisted in the British Army on 13 August 1943 and joined the Irish Guards.

Thomas Crowe Watson embarked for service in North West Europe on 8 July 1944.

He was killed in action on 17 September 1944.
