From the service records of George Edward Walker, the following account can be reconstructed.

George Edward Walker was born on 24 May 1924 in Shipston-on-Stour, Warwickshire. At the time of his enlistment he was still a schoolboy. He was not married.

He enlisted in the British Army on 29 December 1938, joining the Irish Guards as a boy soldier. His engagement was formally recognised from 24 November 1941.

George Edward Walker embarked for service in North West Europe on 20 June 1944.

According to his service records, he was 5 feet 4 inches tall, with brown hair and brown eyes.

George Edward Walker was killed in action on 17 September 1944.
