Peter George Francis Warren was born on 27 June 1911 in Enfield. In civilian life he worked as a fishmonger’s assistant. He was described as being 5 feet 6⅛ inches tall, with blue eyes and black hair.
He enlisted in the British Army on 12 December 1940 and joined the Royal Artillery.
On 1 July 1943, Peter married Rose Bertha Gibbs in Tottenham. The couple had no children.
While serving, Peter was involved in a serious motor accident on 25 March 1943. According to the records, a sergeant suddenly appeared from a blind corner. Peter attempted to avoid a collision but instead crashed into a wall, sustaining severe injuries.
